I hit 40 years old and everything about me fell apart at my annual physical where I was confronted about high blood pressure, headaches, mood swings, snoring, etc.. Turns out all of this was due to sleep apnea which was diagnosed after an at home study with 73 events/hour. I was immediately scheduled with a clinician who got me set up with a Redmed system.
So far the greatest benefit for me had been the lack of a headache during the day. I have been less sluggish during the day and my events/hour have dropped SIGNIFICANTLY.
I am still in the compliance stages as required by my Health Care provider. Listen to the advice of your clinician. I have had issues with taking off my mask at night and turning off my machine with no memory of it. I have found that what worked best for me was setting a few quiet alarms at night as a was to check if I have removed the mask or not. Keep with whatever routine you need to establish in order to get that compliance taken care of! As you can see in my photo, I was fast asleep in CPAP land when my parents called me via Facetime to ring in the New Year.
